We spent Friday wandering the streets of Paris, from Notre Dame Cathedral to the Ile St. Louis (if I were a Paris resident, this is where I'd want to live), continuing on through to the Left Bank and the Latin Quarter. Had a picnic lunch at the Place St. Michel and then took a tour of the Conciergerie, the prison where Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette spent their last days. We also visited the Louvre in the afternoon/evening. All told, we walked @ 9.5 miles (according to Rich's pedometer) and rode the Metro everywhere. In fact, I would now consider us masters of the Paris Metro system!
We did, however, have one major catastrophe...Rich lost his hat somewhere in Notre Dame and was unable to find it! We're now on the lookout for a Tilley replacement, but so far have found nothing that comes even remotely close (maybe that's a good thing?).
Oh no! Dad without his hat, post some pictures of that white head of hair, I doubt many people have had a glimpse of it :) J/k, but that does suck, sorry Dad!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are great! Keep posting updates, you guys are such great bloggers. We missed you at the race today Mom.
Love you both,
Ash
I love the pictures Mom! Did you guys take the one of the Eiffel tower? Sorry about your hat Dad. I think we need to have a day of mourning. Have you tried a Beret yet?
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying the updates, keep them coming.
Love you guys,
Morgan
P.S. If you had two daughters on the trip with you the luggage carrying might be a little easier. Just making sure you recognize that and keep it in mind for your next trip.
